Spooky season is upon us and I would be doing my hometown of Detroit, MI a great disservice by not highlighting one of its architectural gems, the Whitney Mansion.
A REAL-LIFE HAUNTED MANSION - if you believe in that sort of thing.
Haunted by David Whitney Jr (its original owner) and his wife, window apparitions and an elevator with a mind of its own are a few of the tales here. It consistently makes "America's most haunted" lists so something must be going on here. I did not experience any abnormal phenomenon during my visit but the house definitely has an unexplainable presence of some kind.
BOUJEE BUT KEEP IT SPOOKY.
If ghost stories don't scare you the dinner prices might. The restaurant located on the first floor is a fine dining establishment serving upscale American cuisine. One day I'll eat here *sigh*
GHOST BAR
Ghost stories are best served with a martini in hand - shaken, not stirred. This high-end cocktail lounge is located on the 3rd floor and got its name for a reason. There seems to be a lot of paranormal activity up here - order their award-winning cocktail, the Witching Hour Martini, and walk around the floor. The staff is super friendly too!
